Tracking my progress in Texas Hold'em

My wife did the ladies WSOP event, but got knocked out during the 2nd hour. She had been getting a run of really crappy cards, but got aggressive and was stealing like crazy. She said playing weak cards was easier, since she could always get aggressive with them without ever feeling committed to the pot. She had a decent stack when she finally picked up a real hand: AA. Called another player's all-in with it before the flop. That player had QQ, but caught a Q on the flop to make a set. Knocked my wife out of the tournament.

Undeterred, she entered the daily tournament at Binions right after (just like I did last year). And she won it! The prize was around $2250, way bigger than what I got last year. It totally paid for her WSOP entry, the trip, plus over $500 extra.

She said there were two bracelet winners in that tournament. One of them was this older Israeli guy with three bracelets. He was there when they were down to three people. They wanted to chop, but she said "No, 'cause I'm going to win it." That got them irritated

She got the Israeli guy on tilt when she showed a huge bluff, with like 23o or something. He just started going on & on about what a bad player she was. That had been going on most of the tournament... she changes gears a lot and some people get really confused. They kept critiquing her play, but she'd just quip back with smart ass comments. She had the dealers totally laughing. The guy eventually called her all-in when he was holding J8 to her AK, and her hand stood up to knock him out.

The guy was pissed.

"You are a terrible player!"
"Hey, you're the one that called off all your chips with J8."
"I thought you were bluffing!"
"Exactly, I tricked you. Now go to bed."

So that was awesome, she's really stoked. She'll be in Vegas for a few more days, so I'm sure this won't be the end of the story.

Glad she could bust the critic out and score. Hope you have better luck in your tournament.

No matter what she said, she still won, and that's what really counts! Kudos to her!
