A ninja is not reckless. A ninja hides in the shadows and only strikes when he has the advantage. A ninja understands that late position is his shadow, allowing him to watch his enemy's movements before making a decision. He understands that early position provides no cover. Without cover, a ninja only attacks with his strongest weapons, such as high pocket pairs or other strong cards. But from the shadows, he can sneak in with more subtle weapons. Suited connectors & low pocket pairs are his poison, only to be employed from the shadows when he can move undetected.

A newly trained ninja will only employ his most deadly weapons. AK, AQ, AJ, and the high pocket pairs AA through 99, are a ninja's katana, suitable for unknown conditions. Only an experienced ninja has the knowledge to see when more subtle weapons can be used.

A ninja will never allow himself to be drawn into battle without an advantage. He will flee from any attacker, preferring to wait until he can be the aggressor. A ninja will not strike foolishly, nor be drawn into battle unprepared, but will strike decisively when his opponent is weak.

A ninja is patient. He will watch his enemy for hours, hiding in the shadows until the right moment to give the death blow. A ninja does not save face. Let the samurai fall on their swords to regain their honor. A ninja has no need for honor, and will flee from every battle that has turned against him. He will patiently wait until his enemy makes a mistake. When the mistake is made, the ninja will swoop in for the killing blow.

When battle is upon him, a ninja does not hesitate. He will not allow a warrior to hide in the shadows, but will instead force his enemy to fight or flee. A ninja knows that allowing an enemy of unknown strength room to hide & maneuver is death. He will make jabs, bets of at least half the pot, to test his opponent's strength. A ninja does not play with his prey when the situation is volatile. He will only set traps & give free cards when the outcome is certain. A ninja will always apply pressure on his enemy when the tide of battle could be easily turned by an unforeseen event.

A ninja knows that at times he must employ fear & illusion to force his enemies to flee. However, a ninja is not foolish. He will never use illusion against a powerful attacker nor a weak & desperate opponent. A ninja knows which warriors can be manipulated and sends them scurrying into the shadows with his theatrics.

A ninja does not fear death. He knows that even a weak opponent can land a lucky blow and does not fear such things. A ninja only fears making an error; he never fears the outcome of a well planned mission. Such is the Way of the Shark.
