I had another bad run this weekend. Man, this sucks. I played at the casino on Saturday and managed to lose $194. I was actually getting great starting hands all day, but very few stood up. I had KK cracked multiple times, QQ cracked, 77 (with a 7 on the flop to make a set) beat by a strait on the river, 44 (with a 4 on the flop to make a set) beat by a flush on the river, etc. The whole day was like that.

The tournament wasn't much different. I lost a big chuck of chips when I had to lay down two pair with KQ when four spades arrived by the river (I didn't have a spade) and another player pushed all-in. I lost another big chunk when I pushed all-in with JJ and was called by a short stack who had 96 of clubs... she got three clubs on the flop. I was very short stacked after that hand and eventually had to push all-in with A7 of spades. I was called by JT of hearts and was busted out of the tournament when she caught a J on the flop. Going out before the 2nd round is even over kind of sucks.

It was a pretty frustrating day. I didn't really think I made many mistakes, I was still very aggressive with my good hands even though I kept getting sucked out on. I guess that's all I can do, since most of the time they won't suck out and I'll make a profit. Just not this weekend.

Last night I played a little online. I lost three $20 sit and go's in a row, but then made $75 at $3/$6. Tiny profit for the day. I'm really trying to figure out which elements lately have been bad luck and which ones were me playing bad. With variations like this, it's hard to tell. My average hourly rate has dropped down to $12/hour. My stats for just $3/$6 have dropped from $45/hour down to $22/hour. I guess that makes sense. I've been running really well lately, so I was bound to have a few losing sessions. I just didn't expect them to be so harsh. And the fact that my losing sessions are all happening in a row is making me wonder if it's me.

Oh well, we'll just have to see how the rest of the week plays out. I'm not going to alter my generic strategy much. I'm still going to push hard when I'm ahead and stick to the pot odds when I'm behind. Hopefully, it'll even out eventually.
