Sweet, I finally started making a profit again! Yesterday was a lot of fun, four tabling is definitely where it's at. Exciting, lot's of action, and it's really easy to stay tight when you've got so many hands to choose from. Party Poker let's me resize the tables, so it was easy to watch four at once. It was tough to get too far ahead, though. On one table, I was losing pretty bad. On another, I was getting good hands but getting sucked out on. On the third table, I was winning a lot of small pots and continuously growing my stack. On the fourth, I was totally crushing them. Heh, seemed like each big pot I won was followed by a loss at a different table.
I think I've been too hard on myself when I have a bad run. When I four table, I'm playing so many hands and seeing so many other players, that it's a lot easier to get the long view perspective. My fluctuations have a lot to do with what cards I'm getting, I shouldn't get so pissed off at every suckout. As long as I stick to a good strategy, pay attention, and look for mistakes my opponents are making, I think I can easily stay above the curve. It can just take a while. Learning to spot good placed to bluff is definitely
I also won a sit & go, which wasn't much money but a great morale booster. It was the biggest comeback I've ever pulled off. At one point, I was the chip leader with 3360 in chips. I ended up going all-in and got called by the second place guy, who had 3000 (JJ vs AJ... he caught an Ace). I lost that hand and was left with only 360 chips (the blinds were 50/100). It was four handed and no one was interested in calling my all-ins after that, so I stole the blinds until I got my stack up to about 1000. Finally, someone called me, I doubled up, and was left with 2000. A round later, I busted the guy in 4th place and entered the payout structure with a decent stack... and eventually managed to win the whole thing! Not much money, only $39 after the entry fee, but I felt well rewarded for my tenacity.
I'll keep playing during my break and hopefully my downswing is officially over.
