Man, losing that tournament sucked. I wasn't expecting to go out that quickly there at the end. Over five hours as one of the chip leaders, but not good enough to make it into the money.

But I do want to thank JamesACG for looking over my shoulder. I think I played better than normal knowing that someone was watching. And at least I had a witness for my crippling bad beat

The advice definitely helped, too.

I think I had my speed tuned pretty well for that game. I noticed a lot of the players at my table were in too many hands (IMHO). Their chip stacks kept fluctuating wildly, but mostly stayed around the average. I tried to stay out of any pot where I didn't have a strong advantage and kept my stack growing for the most part. I really liked the deep stack & slow blind structure.

I was on tilt for a while after my loss. It's tough to deal with it, it's like getting a body blow. My wife suggested we go down to San Pablo the next day to blow off some steam. I pick a weak victim, then employ an isolate/pound strategy until I'm satisfied. Heh, but I decided to just play a whole bunch of sit & go's, a five card draw tournament, and slew of heads up tournaments. I made money on each one, at least. I even got third in the five card draw tournament, which I hadn't played in years, But it's the game I learned to play poker with, so I'm decent at it.

Now I'm going to see if I can keep up the $100/day run I was doing in the days leading up to the tournament. My next goal is to reach $3,300 so that I can enter that $1,500 WSOP event at the end of June. But if I can keep up the wins at $3/$6, I'm hoping I can blow past that goal in no time.
