I finally got my bonus from Party Poker, so my total for the night was about $114. These games are tough, I just can't seem to make very much money. I think I was earning more cash total at $1/$2. I considered moving back down, but I want to make progress towards the higher stakes. I'm starting to think earning so little is just normal, at least until I improve. Battling this tougher competition is helping me get better, though. My reads on opponents are improving and I'm pretty confident that I won't suffer from any big losses, just hover slightly above breaking even. Maybe I'll have more luck on Friday nights, when the tables are full of drunken newbies.
I have some new “friends” on my buddy list, though. These guys seem to be on every night and were losing about $200 each while I was watching. These are the kinds of players who will pay me off when I hit a monster hand. Now I'll be able to find which tables they're at and make sure I get a seat next to them. So right now, my focus is on targeting the few fish I can find, while breaking even against the experts. Hopefully, I'll keep improving the more I play.
