So I had just enough cash to play at $3/$6 online, but only by $30. I was pretty scared about playing at that level, because just one loss would send me back down to $2/$4. But I finally got up the nerve to do it last night and won $60 in the first few hands! I decided to hang onto my winnings, so quickly logged off.

I really wanted to keep playing, though, so I signed up for a $5 tournament. I lost that one right away, when I had AQ with a flop of Q72. My opponent pushed all-in and I called. He turned over KK, I didn't get any help from the flop or river, and that was that. Totally unsatisfying.

Still bored and wanting to play, I signed up for a $20 10-person tournament. I played my new hyper-aggressive style that I've been practicing, which works pretty well at these higher stakes. I got 2nd place. What I was most proud of was the fact that when it was down to 4 people, I was very short stacked and didn't get any decent cards for the rest of the tournament. I only survived through some well-timed aggression. My opponents were too worried about not going out in 4th to stand up to me (they only pay to 3rd place). When it got down to 3 people, I had a big stack again and kept up the pressure. Then it was heads-up, I made a mis-timed bluff, and went out in 2nd. That got me another $80 ($40 when you subtract the buy-in).

All in all a pretty good night. I'm averaging $9.68/hour for the year now! That's pretty exciting, I'm finally beating minimum wage. Hopefully, it'll just keep climbing.
